West River Conveyors Attends 6th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum

West River Conveyors representatives Joe Street and Pete Savage traveled to Saskatoon, Canada this past week for the 6th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum sponsored by the Saskatchewan Mining Association. The forum focused on providing information to equipment manufacturers and service providers regarding mining supply opportunities in Saskatchewan, Canada. The forum highlighted current and future mining projects in Saskatchewan, information on opportunities to supply equipment and services to the mining industry, and the process and steps to become a supplier to Western Canada. Developing relationships

Pete Savage, Account Manager for West River said “Many new doors are being opened for West River. We are continuing to make excellent contacts with key decision makers and exploring possible partnerships in the Canadian mining market. We also learned about the competitive bidding process and how to become a qualified bidder for large scale projects.” Mr. Savage noted that “in-roads are already being built in the Canadian market.” He noted that “since last week, contacts have already been made with suppliers who we may be able to partner with to supply conveyor systems to projects happening in Canada.”

This past year has been an incredible learning experience for the folks at West River. Although West River has more than 33 years of experience in supplying quality equipment to the mining industry, a priority has never been attending trade shows, joining professional organizations and getting their name out there through contacts made at various trade shows. Joe Street, Co-Owner of West River Conveyors said “this past year has opened our eyes to the many potential customers that are out there that we have been missing. We started our business in coal and remain in coal but are now building conveyors for the potash industry and quoting products for the salt industry as well.”
